A car accident on Highway 290 at Antoine around 3:30 a.m. involved one fatality. Two vehicles were involved, a dark-colored sedan and a mid-size SUV that appears to be a Toyota Forerunner. Channel 13’s report from the scene indicated someone was ejected from one vehicle, though which vehicle wasn’t clear. From the damage to the vehicles it appears the car rear ended the SUV causing the Toyota to spin out, however police are still investigating. All westbound lanes of Highway 290 were closed to traffic as police worked the accident scene.

A one vehicle accident on the South 610 Loop in Houston has claimed the life of a young girl believed to be around three years old. An SUV was driving in the westbound lanes of the S. Loop around 2:30 p.m. Friday near Telephone Road when the vehicle entered a grassy median causing the driver to over-correct sending the vehicle into a roll. The little girl was ejected and died at the scene. The man driving was rushed to the hospital. Police believe speeding was a primary cause of the wreck and are checking to see if alcohol was involved. Detectives have yet to determine if the girl was properly restrained in a car seat. Channel 2 News is reporting a serious accident on Highway 290 last night. A dark blue colored Chevrolet Malibu was reportedly weaving in and out of traffic on 290 when the Malibu driver crashed into the rear of a Toyota Corolla. That impact caused the Malibu to flip over onto its side, ejecting the driver. The accident happened shortly after 1:00am on Friday April 13th. Police say both drivers are in stable condition in the hospital, and the driver of the Malibu was to be tested to determine whether intoxication was a factor in the crash.
A serious auto accident on Interstate 45 in Conroe yesterday caused a child to be ejected. The accident happened just before 6:00pm on the section of I-45 between Wilson Road and Texas 105. Conroe Police Department say that a Dodge Dakota pickup truck was pulling a bass boat heading southbound on I-45. The trailer started jumping, possibly because of a tire failure, and the driver lost control. The pickup truck struck a Ford Explorer SUV traveling next to it, slicing the Explorer’s tire, flipping it over. There were two adults and a child in the Explorer: according to investigators the child was not restrained in a child seat and was ejected when the Explorer came to rest upside down. The child landed more than 80 feet away and suffered fractured ribs and a head injury and was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital – The Woodlands. The driver of the pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated and could face a charge of intoxication assault due to the serious injuries caused.
