Tire blowout causes fatal wreck in Katy

A 19-year old man who had just graduated high school and was going to become a U.S. Marine was killed in a single vehicle accident last night. The accident happened near the intersection of Morton Road and Rain Park Lane. Harris County Sheriff’s Office believe the Ford Ranger was traveling above the speed limit when a tire blew out causing the vehicle to begin a sideways slide into the median. The pickup then struck a tree before rolling two or three times and landing on its roof. The 19-year old driver died at the scene; his male passenger was seriously hurt but will survive.

Kids hit by car near Morton Ranch High School in Katy Texas

A 12-year old and 13-year old were transported to the hospital after they were hit by a car on Raintree Village and Morton near Morton Ranch High School this morning. One youngster hit the windshield of the vehicle according to Channel 2’s report, the other was grazed by the vehicle.

Minivan hits motorcycle on Highway 99 in Katy near Mason Road

A man riding a Yamaha motorcycle was seriously injured last night in an accident on Highway 99 near Mason Road in the Katy area at around 9:00pm. The accident happened when a minivan failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic and struck the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, identified as a 29-year old man, slid along the road and crashed into a median. He was taken via life flight helicopter and listed as in serious but stable condition.
