Three hurt in rollover accident on Hollydale Drive in Houston

ABC Channel 13 has reported a crash late last night that injured three men. It was a single vehicle accident on Hollydale Drive in Houston. The report is that the vehicle, which appears to be a white-colored Buick crossover, was traveling at considerable speed when a change in the road surface caused a loss of control; the vehicle then struck two parked cars and flipped over. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and is in critical condition, the two passenger were transported to the hospital for treatment. Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators are looking into whether alcohol-impairment was a factor in the crash.

Speeding black coupe rear ends Chevy Tahoe on West 610 Loop

Police say a small black coupe was speeding on the West 610 Loop in Houston last night around 1:00 a.m. when it rear-ended a white-colored Chevy Tahoe causing both vehicles to strike the concrete divider. The black coupe rolled over in the accident, which took place near the San Felipe exit in the Houston Galleria area. The driver of the coupe was transported to the hospital and the driver of the white Tahoe was treated at the accident scene. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and appear to be totaled. Channel 11’s story on the accident is here.

Charles Ray Dailey charged with manslaughter for car accident death of Mark Arnold

Charles Ray Dailey, 44, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with an October 26, 2012 three-vehicle accident that killed Mark Arnold. The wreck happened at the intersection of West Montgomery Road and Wilburforce Street in Houston. In furtherance of their investigation of the accident, HPD obtained a court order to retrieve data from the air bag control module of Dailey’s pickup truck. The data showed Daily was traveling at a staggering 94 MPH (in a 35 MPH zone) two seconds before the impact. Dailey, who was traveling on West Montgomery, crashed into Mark Arnold’s truck as Arnold crossed the intersection, causing Arnold’s truck to collide with another vehicle waiting at the intersection. A KHOU story says that a witness said when Dailey’s truck passed her he was traveling so fast that it made her car shake. After the wreck Dailey was taken to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he consented to a blood draw, the results of which are pending.

Accident on W. 43rd splits car in two killing teen driver

An accident early this morning on West 43rd at De Milo Drive in Houston has claimed the life of an 18-year old driver, reportedly a student at Waltrip High School. Police say the driver and a co-worker had just left their shift at a hamburger restaurant and had pulled up together at a red light. The teen involved in the wreck accelerated hard when the light turn green: his co-worker lost sight of him only to come upon the smoke and debris of the wreck moments later. Houston Police Department say alcohol was not a factor in the accident, only excessive speed. The teen’s vehicle hit a tree with enough force to shear the Mazda 4-door car into two pieces.

Hyundai rear-ends towed SUV on East Orem near Webercrest

According to police a speeding Hyundai slammed into the back of an empty SUV being pulled behind a wrecker on E. Orem near Webercrest. The Hyundai hit the SUV hard enough to shove it forward into the wrecker. Channel 13’s story says the wrecker driver was not hurt in the accident but the driver of the Hyundai was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

FM 1960 crash kills speeding driver and injures 3 women

Police say a man was speeding with his headlights off last night immediately before he rear-ended an SUV at FM 1960 and Mills Road in northwest Houston. A DPS Officer spotted the man and before the officer could catch up to him, the man’s car rear-ended an SUV stopped at a red light. Three women in the SUV were transported to the hospital in serious condition. The driver who rear-ended them was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Medical Center where he died.
