18 wheeler hits METRO bus on South 610 Loop at Scott Street

Six people were taken to the hospital this morning when they were injured in a collision between a METRO bus and an 18 wheeler. The accident happened on the South 610 Loop frontage road at Scott Street at about 9:30 a.m. The driver of the big rig, the driver of the METRO bus and four bus passengers were injured. According to Channel 11, Houston police later said the driver of the 18-wheeler would be given a citation for running a red light and causing the accident. The 18-wheeler was hauling a load of pipe; the bus sustained damage down most of its passenger side.

METRO bus crash on South Loop at Scott injures seven

A METRO bus driver and six bus passengers are injured after an accident this morning near the South Loop and Scott Street. According to Channel 13’s report a pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer came off the 610 Loop and ran a red light. The bus hit the trailer causing the trailer to flip over. Bellfort and Scott car accident send 8 to hospital

According to a Channel 13 News report, an SUV driver who was allegedly speeding away from the scene of an accident caused a chain reaction collision that sent a total of 8 people to the hospital. One of those injured was a 10-year old. The accident happened at around 10:30pm on Bellfort at Scott Street on the west side of Houston. According to witnesses, the driver of an SUV was speeding away from a different car accident when he crashed into two cars waiting at a red light and also bumped a third vehicle. The SUV flipped over and the cars he hit were pushed into the intersection. Firefighters had to cut into the SUV to rescue the alleged hit-and-run driver. A total of 8 people were transported to the hospital, one of them in critical condition. According to police it did not appear the SUV driver was drunk or under the influence.
