The woman driving the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was arrested on intoxication manslaughter charges. Channel 2 News’ story states the driver’s name and victim’s name has not been released; a photograph on Channel 2’s web site shows a red motorcycle and what appears to be an older model Nissan Maxima.  Harris County public records show that the only female charged with intoxication manslaughter in Harris County within the past 48 hours appears to be an individual named Ashley Tran of Houston, Texas.  The same public records indicate Ms. Tran is currently in Harris County Jail and her bond has been set at $30,000.

Michael Bisotooni identified as victim of accident caused by red light runner

Harris County Sheriff’s Office has identified Michael Bisotooni as the driver killed in an intersection accident last night in Houston, and a driver who ran a red light is being blamed. HCSO investigators told Channel 13 News that a blue Chevrolet pickup was speeding northbound in the 1000 block of Mason and ran a red light at the Interstate 10 feeder road just after 9:00 p.m. The Chevy smashed into a westbound Toyota Tacoma, driven by Michael Bisotooni. The Toyota then spun out and hit a Pontiac waiting at the red light on Mason. Deputies say the 21-year old male driving the Chevy pickup admitted to “having a few beers” but he passed a field sobriety test. Michael Bisotooni appears to be affiliated with local business Four Seasons Valet Parking LLC and was in his early 50’s.

Woman ejected after accident with 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 westbound

An 18-wheeler accident shut down westbound I-10 around 3:40 a.m. this morning after a big rig crashed into a passenger vehicle sending the injured driver to Memorial Hermann in the Medical Center by LifeFlight helicopter. Details of the woman’s injuries were not in the Houston Chronicle’s article. All westbound lanes were temporarily closed as workers cleared the accident scene. The cause of the crash is being investigated. What appears to be a reference to the same accident on Channel 11’s web site says a total of three vehicles were involved. A story on Channel 13’s web site (it seems to be about the same accident) says a woman in her 20’s may have made contact with an 18-wheeler, causing her car to go out of control and strike a barrier: the collision with the barrier was apparently severe because even though she was properly belted, the seat belt failed and the woman was ejected. The story says the woman’s injuries include a broken leg and injuries to her chest.
